The ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (ACT NCRC) is a job skills assessment system measuring “real world” skills that employers believe are critical to job success. At any level of education, these “real world” job skills are valuable for various career paths for employers, creating an advantage for applicants which include showing prospective employers concrete proof of your skills. Students can earn the ACT NCRC on their way to earning industry credentials and certifications.
The credential is awarded in four levels and verifies skills proficiency in critical thinking, problem solving, applying mathematical reasoning, reading and suing work-related text, and comparing and analyzing information presented in graphically. The four level of achievements – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum are based on performance on three assessments in Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information.
Recently, 101 Melbourne High School students received the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification with 14 of them receiving the top level Platinum Certification setting an 86% pass rate for students taking the assessment.
Students receiving the Platinum certifications are Kaylee Bishop, Annie Blevins, Phoebe Booth, Christopher Burris, Kasey Chmura, Lanie Cornelius, Carson Fulbright, Sawyer Hoskinds, Kenley McCarn, Jakeb Paliani, Ashton Reynolds, Isaac Rice, Serenity Sanders and Preston Stone.
