Great weather for pouring concrete. Today, the cement trucks were rolling as concrete was poured for Phase II, the office and the 5th and 6th grade area. Phase III (gym/cafeteria/special ed) will pour in a few weeks.
Today was the beginning of the end. This time next year, students at Melbourne Elementary School will be starting school in a new state-of-the art building located adjacent to the Melbourne High School. Construction began over the summer with a lot of dirt movement and now we're seeing some of the first signs of a building.
The workers were on site today to do the core drills for the new elementray. The core drills will determine the amount and type of dirt work that is necessary for the base on the new facility. The architects are continuing work on the schematic design.
